1 Year of DOTE Vibes. Happy Anniversary, DOTE Coffee Bar + Roastery!
On this day, 1 year ago, DOTE Coffee Bar + Roastery has officially its doors to the public! A lot of milestones have happened within a year, and DOTE couldn't be any happier being on this journey. The good vibes don't stop there, because there's still plenty more to be shared!
How DOTE Started
For those who don't know, DOTE Coffee Bar + Roastery first started as passion project behind mother & son, Liezel and Jonas Magpoc. Originally, both of them weren't coffee drinkers and the idea of starting their own business was exciting.
The concept behind "An Antidote for Good Vibes"
Both owners, Liezel and Jonas, kept the idea behind DOTE simple, it's "An Antidote for Good Vibes", hence the name. "DOTE" is simply taken from the word "antidote."
People often reach for a coffee or a favorite drink because they want to feel something positive. After a long day, it can be a simple way to end things on a good note. Before school or work, it can provide the little boost they need to get through the day. Sometimes, it's a well-deserved reward, and other times, there doesn't need to be a reason at all. A good drink is simply a good way to make your day a little better.
Because of that, DOTE wants to be people's Antidote for Good Vibes. Whatever the occasion or reason, you can rely on DOTE.
Graduates from the Philippine Coffee and Barista Institute (PCBI)
In the middle of conceptualizing DOTE, both Liezel and Jonas have taken the time to finish "the Coffee Entrepreneurship Masterclass Level 1 which aims to help aspiring café owners." Despite not being coffee drinkers themselves originally, Liezel and Jonas had a willingness for learn about the coffee industry and brewing methods.
An article written by Franz Karl Gallo and published on the Philippine Coffee and & Barista Institute (PCBI) shares how "they've undergone the proper training which translates to real-world application, aside from just learning how to make espresso."
Through this type of education, they've taken inspiration from various sources and drinks to create a wide and flavorful menu selection that people of all ages can enjoy themselves.
First ever location of serving the Good Vibes
Their grand opening was on October 18, 2025 at the Clubhouse at Acropolis Loyola where fitness and sports enthusiasts can enjoy recreational activities, such as pickleball, basketball, and swimming. Guests can also reserve the function rooms to celebrate special occasions and events with friends & family.
Because of the positive reception, people have asked whether DOTE can cater to outside events. This prompted DOTE to create their mobile coffee cart for celebrants to enjoy their beverages and services outside of the Clubhouse at Acropolis Loyola.
Where DOTE is at Present
DOTE Coffee Bar + Roastery continues to grow with every opportunity available to them. Through multiple interactions and getting to know our customers, DOTE has made efforts to appeal and further satisfy the market. After all, their main mission's to bring the good vibes.
More Than Coffee
DOTE has grown beyond coffee, and the good vibes don't just stop there! The menu has evolved with multiple beverage additions such as non-coffee drinks, matcha and ube beverages, fruit coolers.
Even more snacks and hearty meals have been added, aside from sandwiches. Fries, chicken tenders, and pasta dishes were later included for customers to better enjoy their drinks and stay at DOTE.
Serving the Good Vibes at Cainta, Rizal
At the time of writing, DOTE currently has two locations, one in Marikina City, the other at Rizal. Since DOTE's first location is beside Tumana Bridge, reaching Cainta, Rizal by car was very accessible.
The owners were met with a window of opportunity to open up their second branch at Sta. Lucia East Grand Mall. They deemed it a great next step to expanding DOTE at the Bowling & Billiards Center found on the third floor. Not long after securing their space, the grand opening of DOTE's second branch was on May 31, 2025.
Good Vibes to the Function and Every Occasion
There've been multiple events held and hosted at the Clubhouse. DOTE never fails to bring the good vibes by catering to those reservations. Because of how well-received the drinks are, it's prompted the creation of the mobile coffee cart for events outside of its commissarial location.
One of the regular offices they continue to cater up to this day is Sta. Lucia Marketing. Ever since they had their Brokers Connect 2026, DOTE continues to be invited for various events and team bondings held at their office.
The People Behind the Counter
DOTE wouldn't be where it is now without its baristas keeping operations ongoing. The team behind sharing the good vibes have been a huge contribution to achieving's DOTE mission, and they enjoy what they do!
The baristas aren't just doers, but innovators to expanding the menu offerings. Every now and then, the baristas would suggest and experiment with various beverages to consider adding, such as the signature Flamed Orange and Peach Iced Teas.
Hiring the Chief Happiness Officer, Cheddar
Being run by mother and son, DOTE felt it was a great addition to introduce the family pet, Cheddar, as the Chief Happiness Officer. Being a regular face at the Clubhouse of Acropolis, she'd greet customers with a smile, then they'd leave with an even bigger smile after each visit.
Cheddar is an extension of DOTE's mission to spread the good vibes, and as the Chief Happiness Officer, she's a natural at it. Because of this, DOTE has released merchandise designed after the lovable Corgi. Cheddar hopes that wherever you take those items, you'd carry along the genuine joy that dogs have.
A Heartfelt Gratitude to Everyone
A whole year is no easy feat to DOTE, or even to any café. The customers who continue to buying their daily fixes, as well as the employees who keep operations up and running, are the reason why DOTE is able to continues sharing the good vibes to everyone.
There's still plenty of milestones for DOTE to achieve and celebrate, and a whole year of operations is just one of them.
